The Rooftop Counter
Chef Solemann Haddad curates a hyper-local, Middle Eastern-Japanese dining story at his rooftop counter in Eden House.
“Heat, oud, and ambition. The Gulf at its most luminous hour.”
Ethereal Dubai DeskPerched on the roof of Eden House on Sheikh Zayed Road, Moonrise offers a deeply personal expression of Dubai’s culinary identity. Chef Solemann Haddad, born and raised in the city, curates an omakase-style menu that blends Japanese techniques with Middle Eastern nostalgia, telling the story of his upbringing through food.
“Taste is not a standard; it is a discipline. When the setting, the face, and the object align, the image speaks without noise.”
Ethereal casting philosophyThe space is structured around a single U-shaped counter, placing all twelve guests within arm's reach of the kitchen. With the glittering towers of Sheikh Zayed Road as a backdrop, the dining room feels both urban and intensely private. The plating is clean, using custom ceramics made by local craftsmen.
Moonrise demonstrates that Dubai has developed its own homegrown luxury gastronomy. By focusing on local narratives and refined execution, the rooftop counter provides a unique sensory perspective on the city.
